In the previous blog post we looked at operational tips for the Oracle Enterprise Manager Software library – especially for backup and disaster recovery. But if there are multiple Enterprise Manager sites, how do you set up the software library? This is seen in the diagram here. In this case, Enterprise Manager has been set up on two Data center sites. In this case, you have the following possibilities to perform Software Library synchronization: a) Manually export entities from the first site and import into the second site at certain predefined intervals, or on demand. b) Or, put all software library entities on a separate host, install the agents from both EM sites, and when configuring the software library use “agent reference location”. c) Or, as in b, all software library entities are placed on a separate host, but agents are not used – instead, storage replication is used, and the software library is configured with a NFS reference location.
